Audi’s Motorcycle

- 0 коментара

Is it time for the arrival of Audi‘s motorcycle? Devauze Thibault definitely think so, a French designer who is a good part of his internship done at Audi, Ducati and Land Rover. “Audi Motorrad Concept” revealed vision of Audi’s two-wheeler superbike that now could easily become a reality, since the brand from Ingolstadt taken by the Italian Ducati.

Audi was once produced two-wheel vehicles, but this was at the time of DKW Auto Union, from which later emerged Audi as we know now. The inspiration for the concept of a motorcycle with Audi’s marks Devauze received during a visit to the museum where the Audi is among the many exhibits video of DKW motorcycles. As Audi has a rich history when it comes to motorcycles, the French designer was not hard to create a modern version of its two-wheelers.

Motorrad Concept Audi is powered by Ducati’s twins paired with a dual-clutch gearbox. This volume of 850 cc desmodromic housed in an ultra-lightweight chassis made of carbon fiber and lightweight materials. An-Bu Yamaha XS650

- 0 коментара

Where to next for the custom motorcycle scene? Over the past ten years, raked-out choppers have faded away and ‘Brat Style’ bikes have dominated. The genre is named after the Tokyo-based workshop run by ‘Go’ Takamine, one of a handful of Japanese builders who took cheap commuter bikes and stripped them back to the basics, fitting slimmer seats and removing fenders in the process.
Call it neo-retro or new wave, it’s a look that we’re all familiar with these days. So what’s next? The increasing popularity of the tracker style is one pointer, but another comes from shops like An-Bu.

An-Bu has a stellar reputation in Japan, and its bikes are different to those we usually see in the west. The company has a strong house style; It’s based around asymmetrical fairings and a vibe that is part Mad Max, part Tokyo street culture. This XS650, built for the last Yokohama custom show, is a particularly eye-catching example.

The bike is running a no-frills S&S Super B carburetor (more commonly found on Harley Sportsters), raised compression and an overbore for extra capacity. The exhaust system, spectacularly kicked up at the back, is fully custom. The engine has been tuned for torque.

The sleek black fairing—an echo of racing motorcycles from the 1960s—is matched to a race-style seat unit, brutally truncated and sitting much further forward than you would expect. For the tank paint, An-Bu has selected a military theme. The camouflage-style paintjob is reminiscent of tiger stripes, hence the name of the bike, ‘Skull Tiger.’
An-Bu’s style is certainly arresting, and there’s a solid performance boost to match. A good direction for future custom builders, would you say?

Custom Builder Guilty Customs

Corporate success guarantees nothing in the cutthroat world of custom bikes. After tasting big-league success with Bank of America and Compass Technologies, CJ Hanlon seeks to savor the lingering sweetness of success in his newest enterprise, Guilty Customs, and has been busy assembling the cogs for his latest business machine.
It starts with a businessman who has the know-how of the Fortune 500 corporate world but who also has been breaking bikes down and building them back up as long as he can remember. Throw in a self-motivator who grew up in the Bondo dust of a body shop where he honed his talent doing custom paint jobs and breathing life into vintage vehicles. Stir in the all-around talent of an MMI-trained shop foreman with fabrication and body-work skills and you have the foundation for Guilty Customs.
In May of 2006, shop owner Hanlon utilized his business savvy when he merged two respected local shops from the Apopka, Florida, area: Jason Gray Customs and Orgazmic Choppers into Guilty Customs. Since the merge, Guilty Customs has used venues like Sturgis and Biketoberfest to put its foot in the door of the custom bike building industry.
When asked about how Guilty would survive in the ultra-competitive, overcrowded custom chopper market that’s ready to chew up and spit out any pretenders, Hanlon coolly responded.

ARAC ZXS MOTORCYCLE CONCEPT

Sweet Gypsum, the ARAC ZXS Motorcycle Concept from designer Marko Petrovic makes me wish that I’d learned how to ride a bicycle in my early years. But alas, it looks like I’ll just have to leave this one to you guys. So while I’m balancing my Schwinn Cruiser on a set of grown-up training wheels, the rest of you men can ride in style once this concept becomes a reality.

arac-zxs-motorcycle-concept3
The ARAC ZXS boasts a heaviness where it counts – in its crushing fuel-injected twin-v motor, which itself is locked in to an ultra-lightweight aluminum chassis. The design is sleek and futuristic like it was hijacked from the set of a Tron sequel. But this isn’t meant to be a prop, kids. It’s meant to be lean, mean, and fast on its feet, with design elements that aim for a “two-toned metal skin” visual. On that note, it shoots and scores. Now how about we get cracking on this, Manufacturing Industry?

ICON LOW DOWN & SHIFTY XS650

- 0 коментара

Most moto clothing brands take themselves very seriously. But there’s a thick seam of irreverence running through the DNA of Icon. They don’t play games with their motorcycle apparel, but the bikes they build are eclectic, original and often downright crazy.

“Low Down & Shifty” is based on a 1974 Yamaha XS650, and it’s one of the most extreme XS creations we’ve ever seen. The custom cro-moly frame is wrapped in the bare minimum of hand-formed aluminum bodywork, which also conceals the fuel tank.

The front end is from a Hayabusa. Indeed, virtually all that remains of the original machine is the engine, and even this has been extensively modified. It’s had a capacity boost to 750cc, and runs hot cams and dual Mikuni carbs fed via Pingel petcocks. Spark comes from a Boyer ignition and the pipes have been stolen from a MotoCzysz C1, one of the most technologically advanced motorcycles ever made. (Yes, there’s irony there.)

Icon freely admit that this XS650 has “oblique ergonomics, kidney-rupturing suspension, limited lighting and almost no fuel range.” And if you detect an apocalyptic, devil-may-care vibe to this build, you’re right.

The XS was created for the launch of the second Icon 1000 collection, which is revealed today. The new gear mixes raw, gritty styling with classic lines and the latest protection technology—including D3O armor. Check out the new range of jackets, boots, gloves and more here

Rat Rod Strut by Bill York

- 0 коментара

The hand-built bike features yellow painted Gabriel Adjustable air-shocks for the front suspension. They allow the rat bike to ease on the framerails when even they’re drained of air. Aside from a few components like the drivetrain and the Ultima motor, York and Anglani hand crafted most of the other parts. That includes the gas tank, foot controls, oil cooler and air tank. The gas tank sports an inverted Corona beer bottle welded into place that acts as a gas gauge. For the air cooler, the duo made use of a junkyard heater core.
The kicker, however, is that the rat bike has been fitted with a flame thrower to give it loads of pizzazz. The team built an in-line fuel pump from the gas tank, attached it to a NOS sprayer nozzle and welded a spark plug to the tip. The result is a carefully hand crafted rat bike with an element of danger and allure. With the project wrapped up, York can now claim to have completed his collection and show it off with pride.

Electric Chopper

- 0 коментара

The Electric Chopper was created to offer its rider the feeling of authentic cruising and not just untamed power under him. However, the bike features technical supremacy alongside modern styling and trim that takes the traditional proportions of a chopper and combines it with a low, sleek stance that is better suited to a chopper rider of the new millennium. The soulful creation can be customized to a buyer’s precise preference thanks to Öhlins suspension that are fully adjustable and the long wheelbase that makes the ride as comfortable as it can get. The lightweight styling of the ride remains robust thanks to a trimming of blasted aluminum and carbon fiber fairings over the twin spar beam steel frame.

With an impressive range, the Electric Chopper is powered by a battery pack capable of storing 7.7Kwh of energy that fuels the 96hp dual AC induction motors. The high power pack not only enables high speeds and great acceleration but also helps chopper riders explore fragile eco systems and exotic off-road destinations which makes it perfect for the soulful and conscientious rider who doesn’t want to ruin the very environment he seeks to find peace from. Even in remote destinations, the bike remains ideal for long quiet cruises thanks to extra space for large batteries built into the large framework of the chopper bike.

TwinTrax Motorcycle

Built and owned by Christoph Madaus in Cologne, Germany, the motorcycle has a wheelbase of 2060mm with an overall length of 2710mm and a height of 990mm. There’s no word on just how fast this baby goes or even how much torque it generates. But considering its powerful engines are mated to a 5-speed H-D with Andrew gears, we figure it’ll give others some pretty decent competition.

front and rear wheels are Metzeler ME880 tires while the front pegs, mirrors, fenders and oil cooler are Twintrax aluminum. The rugged and dull paint color was conceptualized by Madaus himself while the actual job was undertaken by Nicolay/ Bernd Bolten and Wolfgang Pohlscheid (Wolpo).

The Flying Tigers FXR, meanwhile, gives an output of 66 hp and is equipped with an Evolution engine. Painted a sky blue, it deviates from the look of the rest in the German Motorcycle Authority’s arsenal but its powerful frame will put critics to silence. The custom Harley Davidson KHRM, on the other hand, uses a stock Sportster from the XL Series which has been turned into a street legal racing bike.

Snake Road Motorcycle

One look at this concept motorcycle designed by Daniel Simon and you are surely going to say the ‘wow’ word. Named as the Snake Road this concept really deserves the accolades for resembling a snake form, to be precise a cobra. Made from fiberglass material (to reduce weight & drag)) and carved in such a way so as to improve aerodynamics, this jaw-dropping futuristic bike is awe-inspiring. Powered by an internal combustion engine and a leaning forward riding stance (like in a sports bike) for the rider will provide ultimate hair raising experience that is unmatchable. To top-off the ultra futuristic look, Daniel decided to give the Snake Road a traditional speedometer for that retro feel.

Bombardier Embrio

The Embrio concept from Bombadier Recreational Products (better known for their more conventional forms of transport like jetskis) uses gyroscopic technology to balance itself and the rider on one central wheel. The smaller front wheel acts to stabilize the Embrio when stopped or traveling below 12mph.

The Bombadier Embrio was designed as an insight into the future of transport circa 2025. Bombadier drew on its experience with recreational vehicles when it came to design of the Embrio and it is intended for people who enjoy transport, this is evident in the styling and the necessity to lean into turns similar in a similar manner to a motorcyle rider.

The Bombadier Embrio is powered by a hydrogen fuel cell emitting only water as a by product driving an electric motor powering the main wheel.

Control of the Embrio is facilitated by a trigger control on the left handlebar for acceleration, and a trigger on the right for braking.
