ONEDOORCAR

The ONEDOORCAR concept created by Russian designer Alexander Createric, is a passenger vehicle designed to be as compact as possible. Its rectangular proportions make the most of the available space, and Alexander proposes both four and six seater variants.

The concept is based around an extremely robust looking box-section spaceframe chassis. The seating position is significantly higher than comparable vehicles, allowing the drivetrain to be slotted in underneath. Living up to its name, there is indeed only one door, and it’s located at the back of the vehicle.

The dimensions of the ONEDOORCAR are rather peculiar. It’s shorter than a Smart Fortwo, yet wider and taller than a Mercedes GL-Class SUV. In fact it’s almost a perfect cube. This allows it to take up around half the road space of a conventional family car. In addition, it can park perpendicular to the kerb without sticking out into traffic. Ideal for highly congested urban environments where every scrap of space is at a premium.
