Limited Edition 2014 SRT Viper TA

Chrysler has presented racetrack version of the Viper, the 2014 SRT Viper Time Attack. SRT Viper TA has been optimized for those customers who want to move their sports cars on the track.


Updates to the Viper package for Time Attack include bigger brakes from Brembo, a Carbon Fiber Aero Package that includes a massive rear wing and a Track Package that boasts better wheels and Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. The car has new aerodynamic package that includes front splitters, a rear applique, new rear spoiler. The car boasts an 8.4-liter V10 engine which develops 640 HP (477 kW) and 814 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque

 

Weight savings are found via a new carbon fiber X-brace underhood along with badges that have been replaced with stickers. Perhaps most importantly, the Time Attack comes equipped with the two-mode remote reservoir shocks seen on the more expensive GTS. While the GTS offers Street and Track modes, the Time Attack goes a step further with Smooth and Rough settings, no Street mode here.

Stitching on the seats, central stack, pull brake, console, doors, steering wheel, shifter head and boot, and the instrument panel are all in Crusher Orange color.

The Time Attack is the fastest Viper it’s ever tested, reaching 60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds and a quarter-mile ET of 11.3 seconds at 129.3 mph. But is the Time Attack good enough to beat the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, the car that beat the Viper the last time? We will see in the future.

 

The car will be officially unveiled in New York at the end of March. It will however be available during the third quarter of 2013, according to SRT, and will be limited to just 33 units. They will all be in Crusher Orange paintjob and will have price of $120,500.
