Toyota 86xStyle Cb

 

At the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon, a Mecca for modified car enthusiasts from around the world, Toyota unveiled a number of customised GT 86‘s. But their most unusual is the 86xStyle Cb concept, which has been subjected to a rather unusual bodywork alteration. The front clip has been replaced with a much rounder replacement, and the headlights too have been swapped for oval units. To be honest, from the front, it’s almost unrecognisable.
The rear too has been altered with a new bumper, a duck tail spoiler, new taillights and a new set of exhaust tips. A two tone paint job and 18-inch BBV wheels round out the exterior changes.

Oddly, Toyota say the 86xStyle Cb was designed to appeal to women, while its influences come from classic sports cars. The strange blend of rounded retro front mixed with the sharp modern lines of the rest of the car don’t really work all that well. But as it’s just a one-off concept there’s not much point in fretting about it.
Other upgrades include better brakes courtesy of Brembo and lowered suspension.
