The Peugeot Onyx Concept Scooter features a removable center section meaning it can be used either as a scooter, allowing the rider to sit in a chair-like, foot-forward position. Or the central storage section can added and the rider straddles the seat like a normal motorbike. This center section has enough storage space to hold a couple of helmets or other cargo.

Thierry Sanseigne, Peugeot Scooters Marketing and Style Director, explains the concept: “The world of the scooter is transforming very rapidly around new expectations, new uses and new customers. Peugeot Scooters is driving this development and blurring the boundaries between motorized two- and four-wheeled vehicles.”
Powering the Peugeot Onyx Concept Scooter is a 400cc engine backed up by an electric motor. Combined, the drivetrain produces 60 horsepower and allows for a 93 mph (150km/h) top speed. The hybrid drivetrain can be run in 100 per cent electric mode for 18 miles (30 kms) at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h). When using the engine the scooter has a range of 310 miles (500 km).
